For many years, Bernie had dreamed of one day opening her own bed-and-breakfast.

After walking from Le Puy-en-Velay to Cahors in 2022, Bernie and Jérôme set out again on the Camino de Santiago, this time by bike, heading to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. It was a revelation: this would be the place, in this charming village at the foot of the Pyrenees, along the GR65 and GR10 trails.

The search began until they found the perfect home: the magnificent Errecaldia house, a building dating back to 1673, with its hardwood floors, wooden beams, and breathtaking views.

Jérôme retired, and Bernie ended her career as a physical therapist. At the same time, she trained in coaching to help people navigating the experience of illness in a different way and created “Harmovie-coaching.”

In October 2024, Bernie and Jérôme set off from Errecaldia by bike to Santiago de Compostela and then Fisterra. At the same time, Bernie was undertaking a challenge to raise money for “Pink October.” What a joy to complete this journey together and contribute to cancer research!

As hikers and cycling enthusiasts, Bernie and Jérôme welcome tourists, hikers, and cyclists with pleasure and enthusiasm. They have also earned the “Bicycle-Friendly” certification.
